Hello, my name is Dr Aryan Tavakkoli and I will be your doctor in Quantum Clinic.

I look forward to meeting you and working with you on your path to optimal health.

Before we meet for the first time, I’ll ask you to fill out a detailed questionnaire regarding your health and to send this to me along with copies of your medical records – letters from your GP or specialist and results of any tests you have had performed.

After I have reviewed your questionnaire and previous medical information,  we will meet for your initial consultation. This will take up to one hour. During this time, we will discuss your individual problems in detail, and I will advise you of my recommendations for investigating your condition using a functional medicine approach,  in order to identify the root causes of your problem. During this first appointment, I will also show you some simple and effective HeartMath techniques for your ongoing health and wellbeing.

If you choose to proceed with my recommendations, the next step will be to have a number of investigations which may include blood tests, urine tests, stool tests and saliva tests. These tests will provide me with a thorough understanding of your individual biochemical and physiological parameters, in particular the health of your gut.

Some of the areas that I will investigate include:

  • whether your digestion is working well or whether there is any evidence of malabsorption;
  • whether your gut microbiome is diverse and healthy, or whether there is an overgrowth of non-beneficial organisms which may be impacting on your condition or overall health;
  • whether you have an adequate supply of vitamins, minerals, anti-oxidants, essential fatty acids, essential amino-acids and other vital nutrients;
  • whether you have an adequate supply of enzymes and cofactors in order to support your cellular processes efficiently;
  • whether there is any imbalance in your neurotransmitters or mitochondrial metabolites that may be contributing to your condition;
  • whether there is any evidence of heavy metal or other toxic burden in your body;
  • whether you may have an undetected delayed hypersensitivity to certain foods that you eat.

Once your test results are available, I will review all of them and then see you in a follow up appointment to discuss your results and your recommended treatment plan. This will include measures to boost your gut health by improving digestion and absorption of nutrients and optimising your gut microbiome, and nutritional supplements which will be individualized and targeted to your specific needs, according to your test results. I  will advise regarding healthy nutrition and also explain the results of your food hypersensitivity testing so that you know which specific food items may be contributing to inflammation in your body and are therefore important to avoid.

Three Important Questions

Throughout your consultation and investigations, I will be seeking the answers to three main questions in order to guide your individual treatment plan:

1  What are your deficiencies?

Deficiencies of enzymes, cofactors and essential vitamins and minerals may be hindering your recovery because vital cellular processes will not be performing efficiently. Deficiencies of essential nutrients can contribute to chronic fatigue, impaired immunity, mental effects such as depression, and a host of other physical signs and symptoms. Any deficiencies will be identified via the comprehensive biochemical and nutritional testing, and corrected.

2  What are your sensitivities?

Delayed food and sensitivities are very important to identify because they are often an unrecognised contributor to chronic medical conditions. They can cause ongoing low grade inflammation in your body, which can lead to chronic disease. They are very often caused by common food items. They will be identified using state-of-the-art food sensitivity testing, and I will advise you which foods are likely to be contributing to the chronic medical condition from which you are suffering, and are therefore important to avoid. I will also give you a written guide of foods you can eat as a substitute. The test will also identify any chemical sensitivities you may have so that you can reduce your exposure to these in your environment. With time, your immune system will adapt and re-balance, so that you will once again be able to enjoy the foods that are currently causing sensitivity issues.

3  What are your toxicities?

Any hidden infections, heavy metals, chemical pollutants or other environmental toxins in your body will be hindering your recovery because vital cellular processes will not be performing efficiently.  They can be identified and removed, as much as practically possible, through the Cellular Detoxification Programme (please see Treatment Plans and Fees).

The answers to these questions will help me to formulate a treatment plan for you in order to eliminate any chronic inflammation in your body and to optimise your own immune system and cellular function.

I look forward to being of service to you.

Please feel free to contact the clinic with any queries and we will be happy to answer your questions.
