Hello, my name is Dr Aryan Tavakkoli and I will be your doctor in Quantum Clinic.

I look forward to meeting you and working with you on your path to optimal health.

Before we meet for the first time, I’ll ask you to fill out a detailed questionnaire regarding your health and to send this to me along with copies of your medical records – letters from your GP or specialist and results of any tests you have had performed.

After I have reviewed your questionnaire and previous medical information,  we will meet for your initial consultation.  During this time, I will provide you with my recommendations for supporting you using both a functional medicine and integrative medicine approach, with the aim of placing you in the strongest position possible.

During this first appointment, I will advise regarding healthy nutrition and also address your mental and emotional health for your ongoing health and wellbeing.

I may advise a number of investigations which can include blood tests, urine tests, stool tests and saliva tests. These tests will provide me with a thorough understanding of your individual biochemical and physiological parameters, in particular the health of your gut.

Some of the areas that I investigate may include:

  • whether your digestion is working well or whether there is any evidence of malabsorption;
  • whether your gut microbiome is diverse and healthy, or whether there is an overgrowth of non-beneficial organisms which may be impacting on your condition or overall health;
  • whether you have an adequate supply of vitamins, minerals, anti-oxidants, essential fatty acids and other vital nutrients;
  • whether there is any imbalance in your neurotransmitters or mitochondrial metabolites that may be contributing to your condition;
  • whether there is any evidence of toxic burden in your body;
  • whether you may have an issue with metabolising or clearing your hormones.
  • a detailed metabolic profile including blood sugar regulation, lipid profile, detailed thyroid function, inflammatory markers and nutritional profile.

Deficiencies of enzymes, cofactors and essential vitamins and minerals, as well as hidden infections, heavy metals, chemical pollutants or other environmental toxins in your body  may hinder recovery because vital cellular processes will not be performing efficiently. Deficiencies of essential nutrients can contribute to chronic fatigue, impaired immunity, mental effects such as depression, and a host of other physical signs and symptoms. These issues can be identified with comprehensive functional medicine testing.

Once your test results are available, I will formulate a plan for you in order to reduce or eliminate any chronic inflammation in your body and to optimise your immune system and cellular function. I discuss all your lab results in detail with you, and provide my recommendations for you. This may include measures to boost your gut health by improving digestion and absorption of nutrients and optimising your gut microbiome, nutritional supplements which will be individualised and targeted to your specific needs, and natural supplements with anti-inflammatory action.

During follow-up appointments, I address any questions, review your integrative plan and recommend adjustments where necessary, keeping you informed about any new recommendations or interventions that may benefit you going forwards.

I look forward to being of service to you.

Please feel free to contact the clinic with any queries and we will be happy to answer your questions.
